Sunny L.A.

I am in LA and have set up some interviews both here and in San Fransisco with some really interesting people. I am quite amazed how willingly people have found time in their schedules to meet with me. But Jonas Klit Nielsen from Mindjumpers has also been a great help introducing me to some of his network in San Francisco, thanks Jonas!

Here is a shorlist of the people, I'll be interviewing:
  • Jane Jordan-Meier the author of: The Four Stages of Highly Effective Crisis Management: How to Manage the Media in the Digital Age
  • Bastien Beauchamp, President & Co-Founder of The Bees Awards (a social media campaign award show)
  • Preston Lewis, Co-founder & Director, Bonfire Communications
  • Karina Grotz, entrepreneur and connector extraordinaire
  • Christopher Franco from my own company but based in L.A., Senior Planner Emerging Media

My journey has begun!

Soon I'll be in the US to do interviews with people, attending SXSW in Austin, Texas for 10 days. It is going to be crazy with more than 60.000 people passing by the city, talks, premieres and lots of concerts to attend. Not to mention all the informal conversations at all the parties hosted by companies such as Skype, Mashable and Frog Design (that's just for the Interactive part). Check SXSW out here or try out the app SXSW GO
I'll tell you more about all the people I will do interviews with on my way.

Guestblogging & writing some...

While I'm at SXSW I'll be guestblogging for the social media agency Mindjumpers at their blog and do some articles for the magazine Markedsføring.

Don't know what my take will be yet but will try to find some interesting stories and cover some of the talks. It looks like social philantropy is pretty big this year i.e. how brands do all sorts of giveaways (services, products etc.) to their users and costumers.

Wisdom of the Crowd

"... Who should I talk to?"
That's what I am planning to ask you and anyone else who I can reach through conversations, via social media platforms, that I already spend much time on and here. I need your help to get a wide spectre of input.

Already, I started meeting with some skilled people here in Copenhagen. And I'd love to hear your ideas and inputs too, thanks!

Being social equals reciprocity!

Rally to Restore Sanity, Washington DC, October 2010

Here's an initial thought:
What I've seen both on- and offline is that being social is about reaching out and being heard. It's about letting your own voice be heard but also acknowledge others. So, in order to be part of anything social, you have to change between giving and receiving within a wide range of capitals i.e. social/cultural/economic.

It's the basics of the reciprocity principle which the French anthroplogist Claude LĂ©vi-Strauss introduced and which you still find in all social relations.
